Welcome – Fàilte!

Aurora is a welcoming, modern Highland B&B. Ann provides kind, thoughtful hospitality with a green ethos. At the top of a 4 star Visit Scotland award, the emphasis here is on providing you with comfort, quality, cleanliness and attention to detail.

Here's what a recent guest had to say about Aurora:
My husband and I stayed here for four nights in 2012. We both found Ann to be very welcoming and her home is beautiful. The room was spotless as was the bathroom. The rooms are very modern and tastefully decorated. Breakfast in the dining room was a delight and we always looked forward to going down for same. The lounge, which has a TV, is extremely comfortable, although we did not use the room to watch TV but instead looked out the windows at the wonderful view. We were in the Skye room and I can tell you we have never slept better - not even in our own bed at home! There was a constant supply of flapjacks made by Ann which were delicious. Needless to say Ann does a wonderful job of running this B&B. She is extremely knowledgeable about the local and surrounding areas. I would highly recommend this B&B and I know for sure we will definitely be back. M & B - Scotland.

We offer very comfortable Super-king / King sized beds in en-suite rooms. A relaxing upstairs guest lounge has sea views, a wood burner and TV. Our tasty breakfasts are locally sourced and cooked to order; we make our own preserves, organic bread and yoghurt. Pre-booked, healthy, simple supper available. Many free extras: WiFi, bike storage, drying room with washing machine, homemade flapjacks and fridge with fresh, organic milk.

Sustainability is a key part of our philosophy, so choosing to stay here reduces your environmental impact! You are welcome to pick up a few tips on reducing your energy costs – our energy bills have gone down over the last 4 years! We hold a ‘Gold’ Green Tourism award and in 2010 we won a cherished 'Green' Highlands and Islands Tourism award.

Shieldaig is a picturesque village only 90 minutes’ drive from Inverness, single track the last 30 minutes. For many this is the ‘real’ Highlands, enjoying a spectacular location, nestled amongst the Munro's right on a West Coast sea loch. We are surrounded by nature – sea-eagles on Shieldaig Island, red deer in Torridon glen, pine marten wander by, otters in our sea loch, a wealth of marine life - seals, dolphins, whales, divers and puffins.

A perfect base (with shop & pub) for exploring the remote Applecross peninsular, Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve, Torridon, Eilean Donan Castle, Plockton, Inverewe Gardens, Glen Elg and Wester Ross. We have lots of information, including daily weather forecasts, to help you get the most out of your time here - great walks, activities and tours close by.

Come and restore your sense of wellbeing.
